So you are at the multiplex...

You are pretty sure you have seen all the faces somewhere before - but you don't know where. You are sure you have heard of the Writer/Director before - but you can't put a finger on it. You live under a rock and missed all the pre-release hype, haven't read any reviews or even seen the trailer. None of the movies look like sure-shot, can't-miss deals.

You are going to buy a ticket based on what you can gather from the poster. What would you go for?

Congratulations, you just listed 95% of every movie ever made in just 11 entries.

...okay, so 90% of them were covered by the last entry 🙂

If the high school comedy is Superbad (which is the only recent comedy relating to that subject), I think that's the one I'd see. The other comedy sounds like a wanna-be Odd Couple. Only other interesting one may be the raging wanna-be Matrix movie. Maybe it'll have a hint of Bourne in it :Q.

Morgan Freeman I guess? Hard to say since this scenario is fictitious. I would never be so clueless about the movies at a multiplex if I went there. If for some reason I were, I'd leave. If that weren't an option, then morgan freeman's film.

I'd... wonder why I'm in a theater. Assuming I must be quite drunk, I therefore decide that it doesn't really matter which movie I watch since I won't remember it once the booze works it's way through my system. So I pick Morgan Freeman.

The one with Morgan Freeman in it.

You need to include the choice of "Just to increase my odds of getting laid, whatever my date wants to see"....

I would have gone with the dystopian movie, but then I saw there was an option for a Morgan Freeman movie. As long as that movie isn't something like March of the Penguins, I'd be generally happy to see it.

however, never have I walked into a theater with no idea what to see. lol I don't want to randomly waste my money on expensive tickets, I always have a specific title at a specific time, knowing full well in advance and made a plan. 🙂
although, it'd be interesting just to wonder into a theater from the mall and be one of those people who has no idea what is out and watch some random flick. sometimes it would turn out to be a good idea.

Hehe, that's how I ended up watching 'The Perfect Stranger' and 'The Reaping' this year.
The Perfect Stranger - Bruce Willis (OMG), Halle Berry and Giovanni Ribissi - how could it be bad?
The Reaping - Two-time Oscar-winner Hilary Swank in a horror movie with Biblical themes - how can this possibly be bad?

Both those movies sucked. Hard.

BTW, this thread proves that with Morgan Freeman in your movie, you don't need to waste any money on marketing/publicity. Morgan Freeman shalt draw the crazed fanboys with the magic of his soulful voice. 😀

that was me last saturday night hoping to watch Rush Hour 3...but instead staring at the movie titles and wondering WTF to pick. i could have watched "The Kingdom", but my companion (gal pal) was already set on watching it with someone else.

so, we opted for a bookstore, which is always a good last resort. 😀

Wouldn't this be "all of the above"? 😛

Edit : My vote went to the Pissed off aliens
