Okay, this may seem a little lame, but it has bothered me for the last couple of days. (Yes, these are the things I think about when I have too much time on my hands .)
Here's the scenario:

Let's say you are a witness to some horrific crime/ murder/ etc. (at a place you visit or pass by often) and agree to testify in court about it. You are the only witness to this crime, and the only way this person(s) can be "locked up" is if you testify. You're life is threatened as a result. You are consequently put into protective custody/ witness protection program. So, on the one hand, something good can come from it, but on the other hand you could end up dead.

Were you in:

1. The WRONG place at the WRONG time

2. The WRONG place at the RIGHT time

3. The RIGHT place at the RIGHT time

4. The RIGHT place at the WRONG time

My vote is RIGHT place at the WRONG time, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

Wrong place, wrong time.

I hope I never have to testify for anything, much less be a witness to a crime.

Right place at the right time. Without my witnessing the act and agreeing to testify a murderer likely would go free.

I've always wondered how the witness protection plan really worked. I mean, do they just give you a new identity? Or do they set you up with a new life (job, retirement, house, car, etc, etc)?

i'm pretty sure the defendant would just shoot you in the face instead of paying you off..

edit: oh.. to answer the question, wrong place, right time.. i mean if it wasn't the right time for this event, it wouldn't have hapened, and therefore i would have witnessed nothing.. but it's obviously the wrong place, cause once the dude finds out, you're dead
