So with SprintPCS can you NOT send text messages?

so what's my best bet then, assuming I don't have one of the already-SMS compatible phones? just wait for the official launch and then think about buying a new phone?

any word as to how much the SMS service will be (I get the feeling it will be rediculously expensive; $.10/message or something)

actually that was the exact information a high level tech over at sprint relayed to me. the bad part is that everybody needs to upgrade to new phones.

If I had some more money I'd buy a VM4500 today. If you're ready to upgrade anyway you could go get a new SMS enabled phone. But really, if your only use for vision is for messaging then you'd might as well wait for a phone to come along that you like.
