Win9x/ME can go up to 512MB of RAM before it requires an adjustment to the vcache to use more RAM.? Under the [vcache] section of system.ini in the Windows directory, add the following entries:

MinFileCache=65536
MaxFileCache=65536

Why bother with ME, its the biggest Load of junk M$ has ever put out. I have a friend who
is good friends with a guy that works at M$. My friend told me that the M$ guy said (back before XP) that
ME was developed by all the new programmers, while all the experienced people were put on the XP project.

Thats why XP is so much better than ME.

XP is NT based which is why it's so much better than ME, ME was a poor attempt to milk people out of a little more cash while XP was delayed and delayed.

Actually...with the system that I had at the time of Windows Me, it was actually more stable for me than Windows 98. I never did recommend Windows Me to anyone, just because of how many people said they had problems with it.

And just to rant....What is with people that say they know someone, who knows someone else , who knows someone else that works at Microsoft. Nothing against you, Foxkm, personally, but I hear it all the time from others. Microsoft is a large corporation. How is it that every person that works for Microsoft knows everything that goes on with the development of there software. Microsoft has janitors too, you know.

You are incorrect. I have ME installed on one of my computers and it runs fantastically well all the time. Never had any problems with it as one other person mentioned. ME just keeps on running perfectly and works great with my old scanner. My SCSI scanner does not work with my XP Pro computer.

Me is a better OS than Win98 SE in my experience.

That person who knows a person who knows a person working at MS I could not believe that at all. Sort of like I know a person whos uncle knows a person that use to work at X company and somehow knows all the companies secrets and knows all the programmers. Like one person said that person who knows a person may have been a janitor. (g)
