I'm not complaining, but I'm curious.
fvck off

Good answer.

But we all know what it says. Why does misspelling it make it OK?

The mods arent idiots, they can tell whats meant as a real fsck off and the one quoted. I wouldnt test them though. 😉

False morality? Legal protection? Making the gut impact of the words a little less harsh?

Frankly, I don't see anything wrong with cussing, esp on the internet.

But if they did let us spell out cuss words, people would probably use them a lot.. too much.

Maybe its just their way of reminding us.. a few cuss words are ok.. but not entire posts filled with them?

It also goes with their PG/PG-13 vision for the forums..

They have a magic line, and when you cross it, you get zapped.. they like to keep the exact location of that line a little blurry, so they can have a little wiggle room in dealing with troublemakers...

Mods have nothing to do with it (directly anyway). They aren't here to police the language...that's what the filter is for. Of course, if you do bypass the foul language filter they'll give you a vacation.
