If you like cuddling with poop! :D

There is a term for that: coprophilia. Surprisingly enough, that is also the term for Fausto's favorite hobby ;)

Thank you  I was wondering if there was a term for that.

"Fruititarians"? Geez...

The problem with vegitarians eating fruits and vegetables is that nature didn't "intend" for these people to eat this stuff. Nature intended for these nutrients to help feed a new generation of the plant. These vegetarians are mere parasites, feeding off the hard labor of the Plant Kingdom, and giving nothing in return except some really stinky sh!t.

Well, anybody who says fish isn't meat is an idiot.

But the reason being that fish is generally healthier for you than other meats.

Although that may be comming into question, with how polluted our waters are getting...

I have not inhaled fruititarian coprolites, but I'll take your word for it ;)

hell, eating fish rather than chicken can be even less environmentally responsible because most fish that are big enough to eat are all carnivores, iirc. so they eat pretty high up on the food chain. chickens eat at the first rung.

i am not a vegeterian nor claim to be one, but typical american diet has WAAAAY to much meat than ever necessary. salad is not something you can chose to eat once a week, i havnt seen too many that actually care about the food pyramid besides myself. around me at least, that is.

its extremely hard to get enough protein without eating meat or fish. Especially for a larger human like myself. I have to eat meat or fish twice per day along with plenty of veggies in order to keep my metabolism straight where I can properly build muscle and lose fat.

Keep in mind everyone's diets vary because everyones lifestyles vary also.

true, but i am talking about people who get little to moderate of workout, not everyone is serious about keeping himself in shape. even when i was working out, i wasnt all out bigger-is-better; for endurance oriented workouts, meat-heavy diet isnt always better for what i know (correct me if i am wrong on this). the fact there are plenty of pro atheletes that thrive with pure veggie diet, so it can be done. what bugs me is when people think of going light on meat they automatically assume its got to be same old american diet sans meat and no source of protein. i have always eaten lots of beans, soy milk, nuts and whatnot to supply more than sufficient protein. also notice i am not totally against eating meat, i am talking about those who rag on vegetraians while their diet consists of 50%+ meat.

Bingo. They aren't cuddly and they don't stare at you when you drive by farms.

Anyone that thinks cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and other bred-for-food animals are cuddly has either never seen one or has a distorted idea of what is cuddly.

When did I say they were? You fail reading comprehension.

LOL. You're accusing ME of failing reading comprehension? I was AGREEING with you and expanding on your point, dingdong! ;)

I don't eat mamals (just fish and poultry), I don't consider myself vegiterian.

To those that wonder why people stop eating meat when we are biologically designed to - a lot of it has to do with how animals are raised these days - basically tortured.

If I had regular access to free-range organic meat I might eat once in a while. But unfortunately most resturaunts and stores only sell mass-produced, caged, tortured, chemically enhanced animal meat. It's not healthy for you, the animals, or the environment.

You know, my comment wasn't sarcasm. I've raised livestock and have the ability to be friends with an animal right up until the time it's slaughtered, even if I'm the one doing the slaughtering. But alot of people can't do that. They can't seperate the eating food and being food stages of livestock's life.

Consider the following:
Crushing a cockroach can be shown on national TV, but video of crushing a mouse is just something that people don't want to see. The difference? One's furry, one's not. You'll call an exterminator or put out traps for both. They're both pests. They both make a mess when crushed. But one's potentially cute. Like his comedy or not, Drew Carey had a point:
"Dolphin-safe tuna, that's great if you're a dolphin. What if you're a tuna? Somewhere there's a tuna flopping around a ship going, what about me? I'm not cute enough for you??"

Go to your county fair, buy 4H or FFA livestock. The meat is usually excellent and they're well taken care of. You might have to invest in a freezer though. In the case of beef, it's good to go in with another person or three.

People don't associate with fish the same way they do with chickens or cows. Fish are alien to us their for are a ok to eat. Its just rationalizing on the part of crazy harikrishnas.

As others have said, you can't eat fish and be called a vegetarian. Unfortunately, many people associate meat with red meat only. Thus, I sometimes get fish or chicken in my meal even when I request vegetarian. When I point out that I'm a vegetarian at restaurants, I almost always get asked "Do you eat fish or chicken?" Once in a while, they do get the concept and ask instead "do you eat dairy or eggs?"

These threads are always fun. Inevitably, somebody brings up PETA just so they can bash all vegetarians even if it nothing to do with the OP.
