So why did no one bash Germany over it's lack of support for Iraq?

There were not as many bashers but I do remember bashing of Germany. One element is that a lot of the militaristic ape type patriots identify with some of Germany's military history.

Mainly because Germans have a history of kicking ass. The French are pansies and wimps.

That's why when Germany did not support the US, it was like, "Well, that's unfortunate....but oh well."

And when the French did not support, it was like, "So what else is new from these eurowimps!"

Passions go read your history French may have had bad luck in big wars in the end but they fought very bravely in ALL wars. Go look at WW1 casualty figures they fought on and bled their country dry nappy conquered about the same amount of europe (and made the same big mistake in russia) as your "ass-kicking" hero hitler.
Read up man that french pussy surrender monkey stuff does not hold up to historical fact. The French have had our back more then we have theirs in the end. We even worked against the French Resistance when nazis overran France in ww2.

If you look at France's entire military history, they've general had a 1:1 wins and loses ratio...

50%??!! Damn, if we had that ratio, we'd all be British or speaking German.

And partly because Germany's reticence towards instigating combat is seen as more respectable due to their particular history of having decimated their own nation twice by engaging in pre-emtive wars of conquest. France, OTOH, will never live down the actions of its government at the onset of the Second World War, even though this does not particularly reflect on the French people themselves.

Sometimes what seems 'obvious' is really 'misunderstood'; I think this may be one of those times.

Maybe it's the fact that Canada was not a member of the UN Security Council in 2003?

We pretty much told France to fsck off. When we did France spit right back in our eye. Not being used to a country voicing a difference of opinion so strongly, Bush supporters had a cow. Germany resisted too, but were more quiet about it.

Ok that makes sense, we have no veto power...but you guys said absolutely nothing...and not only that...you let us reap the benifits of reconstruction.

Just interested in your motives. The US rarely bends for the sake of bending...look at softwood lumber, beef, etc.

Um, Canada contributed a few hundred million dollars to the reconstruction effort so they were "kicked back" some of that in reconstruction projects.

Why you would condone a war with money but not soldiers is beyond me, but, whatever.

Jesus christ, France has a history of military dominance that lasted for centuries longer than yours has.

It's true, we put $300 million in the pot for reconstruction of iraq.
The cost of the war could hit 1000 times that value. $300 is nothing more than a measly gesture to the iraq and US ppl for having Bush in charge.
