I fear for our ability to ever see eye to eye with each other seeing the world through the cynical lens of that article.

There seem to be a number of people who literally view it as a war. That means they feel like they've got no reason to do anything but fight, and that always leads to misery.

Perhaps the knife is two edged & cuts both ways.

The media, polls & even LAs Vegas down played Trump's popularity so extremely & over exaggerated HRC's popularity status that it backfired. These were not just bad estimates. Mainly, the plan was to attempt to discourage Trump voters.

However, Americans are notorious for supporting underdogs. And people who believed that HRC's election was "in the bag" figured that there was no urgency to go out of their way to vote.

Along with this was the big enchelada which is the out-of-control affordable care act costs. Premium & deductible costs being reported by people are such that the claim is that it is a threat to being able to keep their home.

There were several other phenomena that were problematic one of which is open border polices concomitant with selective enforcement of laws (both as regards immigration enforcement, gun running to mexico, use of IRS as a control agent, over looking HRC security issues, etc.).

I will drop this tidbit here, $1.16 million house = http://www.popsugar.com/home/Hillary-Clinton-Buys-Chappaqua-NY-House-42680279#photo-42680279

And HC said they were broke on 60 Minutes and she was working for the working class. 😀

almost $2.4 million here in Vancouver (Feb. 2016)

Hope that their place is nicer.

As the results show she did an excellent job of locking up traditionally democratic leaning heavily populated urban areas and did nothing to focus on swing states which had any real impact.

That seems fairly modest for people of Bill and Hillary's stature and position. They had a big ad campaign here in Missouri about our Senator's "$1.8 million mansion" in DC. $1.8M is a nice house in DC. Certainly not gaudy.

How is that place worth so much? It looks like a drugs house
It's worth that much because of the dumbass liberal/socialist economic programs in BC. Enact laws that make it difficult, if not impossible to build homes at a reasonable cost and you get the working class screwed over. It's how the left likes it.

I've got a number of Trump supporters on Facebook and some of them have posted a link to this article as an explanation as to why they voted the way they did. Essentially they feel like Christianity is under attack:

https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/...ristians-voted-for-donald-trump-that-liberals

That article is laced with a lot of hyperbole, and more importantly, it's no wonder they feel it's under attack. People are starting to move away from religion. It's time to put the fairy tales away. There are mountains of evidence to quash all those religious myths and it's brought nothing but a net negative to humanity. The sentiment in that article is ironic as well because imagine how Muslims feel in terms of being under attack if these people with this quackery of a reason to vote Trump feel that way.

The ramblings of what were literally goat herders thousands of years ago, who didn't know what the sun was or that most of those twinkly white dots at night were examples of the same thing, that the Earth was a sphere, that you could harness electricity and on and on and on. These silly stories they came up with as a means to explain what at the time they lacked any means to explain are no longer viable and need to be shelved ASAP.

We have similar styles in midtown Toronto. Around Avenue & Eglinton sort of area. Very narrow lots that are built up to narrow three story homes. Generally about 1.5-2mill. Got to wonder at what point this is going to come to an end with prices going up year after year and they have been for the past three decades.
