Knicks and Nets fan here. I'm impressed with the way Allan Houston stepped up his game this year. It's about time. Too bad the Knicks didn't make it to the offseason. If Dice is health next year, the Knicks will be a major annoyance in the East (though they won't go to the Finals, no way).
I've been going to Nets games the last couple of years, they are so much fun to watch. KMart is a stud, plain and simple. He should have been at least 3rd team All-Defensive, probably second. Those stupid things are based on seniority / rep, though, and he's only a 3rd year player. If he's healthy, he's an easy All-Star next year. As for him going to Orlando, forget it, they have Drew Gooden! He could be as good as KMart.
I would love to se Zo come to the Knicks. They need him more than the Nets do. I wonder if the Knicks still have a cap exception to use on him? There's no way that Zo will get top dollar on his new contract. The idea of the Nets making a sign-and-trade for Zo, I think, is not such a good idea. Mutombo must have a year or two left, which is more than enough for Collins to develop into an excellent starter.
Kobe can be annoying. He's insanely talented, but have you seen him taken an open jump shot? He contorts his body as if he was trying to fade-away from an imaginary oponent. Heck, if it works, no complaints from Kobe fans, but it lends to the image of style first. I know he's an insanely hard worker, but sometimes those crazy things get to me.
TD is so good, but is he really a great repeat MVP? I don't think so. The field is pretty flat, and he wins because he's a top 7 footer who stayed healthy. Kidd was the honest-to-goodness MVP last year, but the Nets got no press last year so he was robbed.
So, to stay on topic.... my favorite players have to include as well as KMart and Houston, Richard Jefferson. RJ has stepped into the starting role and excelled in his second year. He's only going to get better and more consitent. If Kidd re-signs, ph34r the Nets!
Also, TMac. I've been a big TMac booster since his days in Toronto, so I feel pretty good about his recent success. It's s shame the way he has no team. IF Hill can be healthy next year, with Gooden in his second year, the Magic could cause some real damage (big if with Hill).
