So whos gonna buy it? 3850x2 - $349 at the Egg

I'd imagine if you can clock it back up to 3870x2 speeds, some people might be interested.

Otherwise I can't imagine any educated consumer buying that.

Could be typical egg-gouge on new products. Let's see where the price settles. At $300 and below it should be a reasonable alternative to the 9800GTX for the multi-GPU fan club. I wouldn't touch it with a 200 foot pole, but someone with a 1900x1200 LCD, limited budget and no crossfire/SLI support on their motherboard might be interested.

seems like an odd duck... maybe testing to marketing water to see if people want to be 'dualers' like they want to have 1gb mem on their card - even if the price/performance isn't compelling...

horrible buy.
The 9800GTX costs the same, and the card is gonna be practically useless in less then 2 months when the R700 and G200 come around.

The only bargain I see is that its easily overclockable to 3870X2 speeds... so its basically a underclocked 3870X2.
