I've been wanting to try this project since i 1st heard about it, but i've been consentrating on SETI. I will defininately try it out ince SETI is done.

questions though-
Do you need an always on connection? - i'm on dial-up
How big are up/downloads? - do you need to download new work for the client or does it make it's own work?
 
Hi Spacehead, it would be great to have you on the team.

1. You don't need a permanent internet connection.
2. The sampleresult file gets downloaded every 3 days, you can configure it, about 100k.
3. The result files gets uploaded when it reaches 100k or you can manually send it when it's bigger than 10k.

I need a install file/.bat file to install DPAD on about 20pcs running Win98 over a LAN from a single pc. Basically just copy the Muon folder to the pcs, "\\pc\program files\muon" and a shortcut for the muon1_background file to the windoze startup folder.

The only problem is that these pcs don't have a internet connection, so I need another file to take(cut/copy?) the result.txt files to seperate folders on a single pc from where I can get them. And occationally update the sampleresult.dat files (copy them to the pcs).

Writing this should be pretty easy, but I don't have the patience...🙁

You need only connection when you are sending your results...
And how big are them? You don't need to download sampleresults regulary, one time could be even enough. Just take it and copy on every comp you have..
Client generate WU's itself, so you don't need to care about that. Only one file you will need to upload is result.txt, which contains your done work.
