BTW, can you do any of these quests solo? or duo? or do you need larger parties?

Cant really solo. Its dungeons and dragons. The whole basis of the games is to enter a dungeon with a party and conquer it 😛

As for the combat, you actually control it. Its sort of a click fest, but blocking and moving around is a very realistic aspect.

who can't afford to pay 50 cents a day to play game that will never end, unless you want it to? i mean... i guess if you can't afford it that's different. it's the question of wanting to invest the TIME to play the game. these games are HUGE HUGE timesinks.

One of my friends gave me the key to try the game for 10 days, after 2 days I have to say... I really like the game, I actually think I will end up buying it because it is very enjoyable. Its quite a bit of fun, not repetative killing the same monster over and over again, there is a lot of Kobalds to be killed in some quests but thats to be expected.

I wasn't interested in soloing, just asking are there any quests that you can solo... because if there were, then that means you can do smaller parties of like duos or trios, which 99% of my play would probably involved.

So i assume that's a no? That you need a full party for each mission?

For a typical MMO that is true... but since everything here is instanced, there's no grinding, and the level limit is so low, i doubt this is as much of a problem as true MMOs.

While it is very hard / impossible to solo, small groups do indeed work. You will probably want to go cleric, fighter, wizard or cleric, thief/fighter, wizard. Also, the LFG/LFM system in this game is really amazing, you can find groups with random people in mere seconds so I'm pretty sure you'd grab another person along the way.

Yup, you simply get time to spend rolling your character. Rolling a character and experiencing vastly different quests is all there is to this game, and so far its quite fun. Theres far more character development options in DDO then any other MMO.

You have stat points, feats, enhancements, and item bonuses to work with, along with the ability to cross class creatures.

Oh, plus the fact that the only way to reroll your character is to do just that. Delete him, and try again 😛

You pretty much have to do quests in 5-6 man groups. It looks like the max raid party size is 12 chars, which is good.

The quests seem pretty boring in the start of the game. But once you get to the house quests things deffinitely get unique. Threnal, Sorrowdusk Isle, Three Barrel Cove, and all the other series quests are very fun.

My amigo Rich started playing two days ago. After the first few hours, he said it was enjoyable, waiting to hear a newer update.

Strangely, many here seemed to have hijacked this thread and turned it into a venting zone regarding monthly service fees and MMO's in general: 17 out of 33 replies.

The recommended hardware requirements are quite high, so I hope it means the graphics are at least appealing, if not outright eye candy.

Cheers,
PCM
