So who bought 'We Were Soldiers' yesterday ?

Well I picked it up yesterday and watched it last night. Kinda sucked for me though because I started watching it at 10 on my 5.1 setup, loud as it can get almost, and then my mom told me she was going to bed and I had to turn it down 🙁. So I had to watch the whole war scene from my TV speakers. It was so painful to my ears!! 🙁 Now I gotta watch it again w/the 5.1 setup though.

So who else got this? I watched the deleted scenes before watching the movie (since I had seen the movie in the theatre so I knew the whole story already). I didn't see where the one scene by the lake would fit in, as well as when that one guy comes back w/the 2 medal of honor's around his neck and has no clothes on. Where do thsoe 2 fit in the story? I also wish they didnt cut out the scene (the 9th deleted scene) where they show the guys coming back to camp and marching right away in their order as the other soldiers who didnt even go into battle watched. That was a pretty powerful scene to me. I also liked the very last deleted scene, wish they didnt cut that out either.

I didn't watch the making of it yet, but I am gonna do that today hopefully. What did you all think of this DVD?

I didn't buy it because I saw in the movie theater and I have 300+ still shrink wrapped DVDs which I'll sell, one of these days.

Movie was ok, not my favorite though.

I rented it last night at blockbuster (love that LOTR card). Very good movie. Not quite Private Ryan, but still a compelling story showing another side of the Vietnam war (where American's aren't the bad guys).

I don't know if it's good enough to purchase, but a great rental.

simply awesome, one of the best and most powerful war movies every made.

The music in the movie really helped the emotion......

Wow, I rarely see people in this forum actually recommend a movie... usually everyone hates everything. 🙂

Maybe I should grab this up...
