I like the US's, France's Russia's and Bulgaria's (the most)

I don't like the Canadaian one much....neither music nor lyrics...its not bad, but nothing special...
 
oh, btw, the song from The Hunt for Red October is not the actual Russian anthem, though its better.

I do like the russian anthem. Altrough it might bring back bad memories for some, it is still beautiful song.

As for the finnish national anthem... I would REALLY like to see (or rather, hear) it replaced by Finlandia by Jean Sibelius! Now, THERE'S a wonderful piece of music! I don't really like the anthem we have. Did you know that Estonia has the same anthem? Those thieving bastards.... 😉
 
russia undoubtably has the coolest anthem.... it just screams "i'm a maruading super power, watch me conquer the world" i mean... everytime i hear it i cant help but think of goose stepping russian soldiers parading in front of a line of a thousand tanks and scores of nuclear missles...

Nope, 40. Czechoslovakia was over 70 years old (came into existence in 1918) when it broke up into two countries (Czech Republic and Slovakia) in 1993. However, we weren't under communist rule all the time. That happened in 1948 and lasted until 1989. Before 1948, Czechoslovakia was among TOP FIVE most advanced countries in the world, even ahead of Germany and look where we are today. WAY behind just because of the damn bastard communists :| It is predicted that in 15 years, living condition will be equal to 75% in Germany. Dammit... BUT, we are moving ahead swiftly and there are plenty of opportunites out there, so I'm optimistic about the future 🙂

I kinda like the Israeli national anthem.... Check out the song Smetana - Moldau, if you wanna hear a BEAUTIFUL classical song based off of melody of the israeli national anthem...

Yeah, well you guys are still better off than most other former eastern block. You, (czechs) Hungary and Slovenia are perhaps amoung the best, probably Poland too.

IMO it has to do with your geographical location, you probably got tons of western investment (since you're so close to germany and austria) and that's why your GNP per capita is about 1.5-2x greater than in other easter european countries....
