^ Meh, seems like you're bitching out of admitting 3rd parties haven't done shit for the country every time they've held major office. Or maybe what you're really saying is that 3rd parties would be different.

I don't want government to do much of anything. The further away government gets, the less it should do.

Here's something that will probably shock you: I love paying property taxes.

Why? Because my city actually provides things for me. Local roads, schools, police, fire, water, sewer. It's fantastic. Every day I wake up and my life is improved because of my city government.

The county also adds to my quality of life. Less so than the city, but there are still services which the county provides.

Then there's the state. It's starting to get a little further away. The state still provides some services directly, but a lot of their function seems to be taking money from me in the form of income and sales tax and then sending some of it back to the city and county with some strings attached telling them how to spend it. Then the rest is used to do great things like build stadiums for wealthy sports team owners.

Then we get to the federal government. The federal government consumes a massive chunk of our economy. And what exactly does it do? It takes trillions of dollars from the productive portion of society and sends some of it back to the states. With strings of course, so that they can pass unconstitutional laws which they say aren't unconstitutional with a wink and nod. They're not forcing you to pass this law, but they'd hate to see this chunk of money disappear? It's basically like the mob, if the mob held elections. So some of the money gets redistributed as bribes to the states to get them to do what they want, some is earmarked for pet projects so politicians can have buildings and bridges named after them. Then the rest is distributed to various campaign donor corporations using helpful terms like "stimulus" so that it sounds like it's helping. Either that or it's given to other corporations to build weapons with which we can blow up people living thousands of miles away who have never caused us any harm.

So prattle on little man, it is what you do best. If you want to believe that Democrats at the federal level have any interest in what's best for you personally, I can't stop you from being wrong.

Gaining double the usual amount of Senate seats, getting more house seats in 1 election since 1948, and absolutely CLEANING UP Governor seats (to to mention 12+ state legislatures that flipped) is NOT a resounding victory?

California has had a Republican governor since '03. So is California all rootin' tootin' pollutin' and sex-in-the-missionary-position-with-the-lights-out-and-only-after-marriage?

Connecticut has had more Republican governors than Democrat. Does that mean we're shitfaced redneck fundamentalist Christian Klansmen rather than East Coast liberals?

The state level is less about ideology since there just isn't the range of variance. Obstructionism will not get you far because you're obstructing the people of your own state, and they're not gonna stand for it. They're gonna demand that you actually work.

The Federal level is a circus pitting radically different parts of the country against each other. That doesn't mean these same battles are fought within each state. On the state level we expect people to normalize to the state, like how Schwarzenegger changed to using alternative fuel vehicles to match Californian expectations. You just don't have that on the national level -- the people of Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana are not going to change to match those of Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.

So, do you have any identity of your own, or just political affiliation?

Your view on the state vs. federal gov't isn't relevant to the fact that 3rd parties and libertarians specifically haven't done shit for the country, ever. And that poking fun at D and R partisans is funny coming from a 3rd party libertarian partisan, as if you're any different. I'm not sure why you felt the need to ramble on about this age-old discussion of state's rights as if your tired arguments haven't been rehashed 1000 times before. I get that you truly believe the federal gov't is substantially different from state governments and it's cute that you really believe that. But back here in reality, both are sides of the same coin and both are inextricably dependent on one another for all sorts of good, value-added projects that help improve the shape states are in.

You're a waste of time. Of course third parties haven't done anything. They've never had any power. What exactly do you expect them to do? Stage a coup?

As I said, I can't stop you from being wrong, so continue on in your delusions.

Where's all the "Hope and Change" spiel now? Same thing, that shit was just a motto to get idiots to rally behind some douche bags. They don't mean it and it won't happen so stop being so stupid. These partisan threads are so goddamn annoying.

Then why would you knowingly vote for a party that hasn't done jack? Because they, uh uh, should be given a chance? That's some powerful tard reasoning you got going on there Boobs. And libertarians and many other 3rd parties have indeed held gov't office, thing is they never got anything done. That's fact.

As I said, I can't stop you from being wrong, so continue on in your delusions.

The delusions that I'd rather vote for parties with actual records? What a crazy fucking thought, lol.
