In my experience a pII on air will throttle because of heat when you start raising the vcore, much before it hits its real OC limit.
I have not used any Intel cpu's for the past 4 years so I could be wrong, but its my impression that you can have the i7 sit at 60-80C when under full load without problems, whereas the pII will throttle at about 60C (which is a pain as soon as you raise the voltage).

What do you do with your computer? Only gaming then get the 955. Video editing? Ripping? Encoding? I7 kills the Amd in everything but gaming.
