What do you do with your computer? Only gaming then get the 955. Video editing? Ripping? Encoding? I7 kills the Amd in everything but gaming.
I think the kicker for people who are OCing to the limit is that fact that i7 deals much better with heat.
In my experience a pII on air will throttle because of heat when you start raising the vcore, much before it hits its real OC limit.
I have not used any Intel cpu's for the past 4 years so I could be wrong, but its my impression that you can have the i7 sit at 60-80C when under full load without problems, whereas the pII will throttle at about 60C (which is a pain as soon as you raise the voltage).
or maybe its just my board that is a failure

Throttle? During testing, my PhII didn't throttle at 65C.

Thermal throttling is nothing to do with the CPU itself, there is an option in your motherboards Bios to adjust things like this.
Heat isn't nearly as important as voltage. My CPU runs at 74-75C full load. Do I care? Nah. This isn't meant to contradict your post, just saying heat isn't very important. In conjunction with high voltages it is.
Bleck, NCIX is the worst company ever. 2 week delay over the holidays for my graphics card. Ordered 12/23 and it didn't come until 1/8. Fedex shipped it in 2 days so it wasn't slow shipping. SLOW processing.

Using my rig for Creative Suite and some moderate gaming. As of right now I'm thinking 920. I was really hoping for the 955 to shine.
Btw zipzoomfly has 955 for $240. $5 less than newegg.
It appears newegg has dropped their price on 955 already its now $235shipped. Just saw the deal on techbargains, Promo Code: AMD4231.
