Never. I like kimchi and that Korean movie "Old Boy", but there is no way for Korean wave in US, especially those "love and tear" movies!

The percentage of Koreans in top universities and professional jobs, and Korean avg family income are disproportionally higher than the percentage of the population they represent. This does NOT mean, however, that koreans are "superior." I have a theory that only smart koreans come to America (dumb ones can't afford/no motivation to come to US?), hence all the [over]achievement.

I still don't see it, but I'm sure you have some statics to prove it.

Korean wave has been hitting U.S for a long time but only to Asian Americans.

I can't give good credits to those soap operas as they're just full of dramas after dramas and that most of them always have same characters and themes.

However, Korean films rock with their own genuine yet universal styles.

Oasis, JSA, Sympothy for Mr. Vengence, Oldboy, Failan, No Where to Hide are films that you must watch!

Meh, there are like 3 famous Korean directors who have really been noticed here, and only by cineastes. Chan-Wook Park (maker of Oldboy, JSA, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, and the upcoming Sympathy for Lady Vengeance), Ki-Duk Kim (maker of 3-Iron and The Coast Guard), and Je-Gyu Kang (maker of Tae Guk Gi and Shiri), and basically for the movies I quoted.

But if the asian person isn't doing martial arts, the American public isn't going to care. If Hotel Rwanda can only gross $23M here, what're the chances of a movie being successful with subtitles, and no remotely famous people (to the American public) in it?

Full House is great. I didn't like Winter Sonata because the story just drags at the end. It's like the director had episodes to fill but the story was nearing its end so he just filled the episodes with meaningless garbage.

No, it's not like that.
No Malaysian waves has swept any other countries but Korean waves have been huge in Asia for a past decade.
No dobut you've never heard of any Korean movies but many people like you have been introduced to Korean movies and Hollywood's getting seriously into it. Either you'll see the real Korean movie, or you'll see a remake version of bunch of Korean movies. In terms of universal theme and quality, Korean movie industry is doing amazingly well compared to other nations' movie industries.

they're in considerations to remake my sassy girl. i can't picture any male actor to be him though... slightly gay, pushover yet nice.

i think that's why i've never watched summer scent, but i did see autumn tale. he's working on spring waltz right now.
