Never. I like kimchi and that Korean movie "Old Boy", but there is no way for Korean wave in US, especially those "love and tear" movies!

Some say it's already happened with overachieving Koreans taking over top Universities and top jobs.
Where did you get that from article or is that an opinion your formed based on what?
The percentage of Koreans in top universities and professional jobs, and Korean avg family income are disproportionally higher than the percentage of the population they represent. This does NOT mean, however, that koreans are "superior." I have a theory that only smart koreans come to America (dumb ones can't afford/no motivation to come to US?), hence all the [over]achievement.
Compared to the population they represent ? There was an article that lot of Koreans are going to Beiing, China to study there cause the job opportunity in Asia compared to the US is a lot better. If you do a search on goolge, I think you can find it. I still don't see how your argument shows they are taking over top univiersities and jobs. Are you talking abou the US? I still don't see it, but I'm sure you have some statics to prove it.

I rented "Oasis" from Hollywood Video the other day, it was pretty good. The two lead actors are amazing, especially the woman (who plays someone with cerebral palsy). Easily could have been an Oscar-winning performance if it was a domestic film.

try Oldboy I hear it's crazy

It IS crazy. Well, the whole setting itself is interesting, but the consequences . . . oh the consequences . . ..

In fact, the phenomenon known as the "Korean wave" swept through Vietnam five or six years ago when films from South Korea became big hits here. In Vietnam, where fans watch films attentively, love and even shed tears for the characters, the filmmaking trend from the country famous for kimchi has had a significant impact on viewers and their ways of life.

Are you kidding me?! They're totally going to ruin the movie. I hope they don't bastardize other Jeon Ji Hyun movies like My Sassy Girl or Windstruck.Originally posted by: freesia39

they're remaking il mare with sandra bullock and keanu reeves.
Full House is great. I didn't like Winter Sonata because the story just drags at the end. It's like the director had episodes to fill but the story was nearing its end so he just filled the episodes with meaningless garbage.Originally posted by: freesia39

That's like asking when the Malaysian wave is going to sweep across America. Most Americans don't know that Korea exists.
I've never heard of a single Korean movie.
