I know someone who works at the same PETsMART Food Distribution Center (FDC20) as I do who came from a Wal-Mart DC. He couldn't stand the place and had to leave after six months. He says that the difference is like night and day and you would have to drag him kicking and screaming from this place. He got a promotion to my brother's former position and three raises in less than six months! We get our $0.50 six month raises too and decent benefits, though even with our store discount Wal-Mart is still cheaper ;)

BTW, RichUK, minimum wage is $5.25 here in the state of Georgia! That's what McDonald's and most other jobs pay here. :(

I work technical support for my local public school system and I am making a lot less than I did as a Network Engineer/Systems Analyst for Unisys. On the other hand I am much more secure and happy than I ever was doing federal contracting.
