So what's the requirement these days to run the newest games at native resolution with a 2405FPW?

Do you need SLI or Crossfire right now for 1920x1200 in games like CoD2, FEAR, etc.?

Also, do any of you with this monitor run games at BELOW native resolution? Does it still look okay? Thanks.

I don't think you would need SLI or Crossfire right now. A 7900GTX or X1900XTX (both top of the line) would probably run it ok. If you want good performance with eye-candy then you might need SLI or Xfire.

Well as long as things run smoothly. CoD at anything over 30FPS runs buttery but CS:S needs like 60FPS for me. Don't know why, it's just the way it is. But you're saying that a single high end card should do okay with games for now?

For me i would need dual cards to play at those resolutions, last years games would be ok on a single card but if you play alot of Oblivion or GRAW, think of going Xfire or SLI. Well i guess it all depends on what frame rates you can play at. Maybe if developers optomized their engines to run better the need to multiple GPUs wouldnt be required.

Yeah, I just got a 2405, and Oblivion is profoundly unplayable on my X800GTO2 modded to X850XT. Oh well, Oblivion looks great at non-native resolution too.

Developers are fine, most people don't have such high res screens, games can run up to 1280x1042 on single card and sometimes 1600x1200. If YOU want to play at higher res than it makes sense that YOU should buy better hardware. The games are coded to run at standard/mainstream res with single card.
