So whats the latest on Doom3 and/or HL2?

I guess I dont "care" more of curious about when they plan on birthing these babies.
Is Valve still crying over their own stupidity?
Is id still basking in their own self-glory?

Whats going on?

Edit: typos

Last I head HL2 as early as Feb2004 no later than April and Doom3 in April/May. Unless the people at Valve are suffering from ego bloat and want to try going head to head with ID's Doom3 in stores to see if thay can out sell it I would expect HL2 in Feb.

I wouldn't expect HL2 in Feb under any circumstances. Most stores seem to have its release date at March 31, though I would definately take that with a grain of salt. If I remember correctly, at the time of the fall delay, they said it wouldn't see the light of day until at least April - hence the end of March release dates. The truth is that no one really knows. You guess is pretty much as good as anyone else's at this point. Cross your fingers and hope we see it this spring.

April 1 is pretty solid for Doom3.....HL 2 is more up in the air...I would guess both would be out by E3 though, which is mid-may...which I am already registered for!

Doom3 got pushed back to late 2004 or 2005 according to my latest gaming magazine. Cant remember which. It was in some article about Activision.

Im not really looking forward to either, but I am still getting kinda pissed because they keep pushing everything back.

NM: It said FISCAL YEAR.

Today Activision released their second quarter financial results in a press release. Among other info in the release, it states that that Doom 3 is now being moved from the 2004 fiscal year, into the fiscal 2005 year which actually begins in April 2004. So basically are they saying that DOOM 3 won't see store shelves until sometime after April 2004? We'll see.

LATE 2004 or 2005?!?!?!?

Jebus, I smell Doom-Nukem Forever.
and [insert smart-ass name for Half-Life 2 here]

When do you think you'll be able to build a system that can max out Doom? It took a generation or two after the release of Quake 3.

Narzy said that he got the full version of HL2 when he bought a Radeon9800 as an incentive. I haven't driven down to see his new killer gaming machine, but apparently HL2 is virtually orgasmic --or, so I hear, from a guy that never gets out at all 😉

HE got a coupon for the full version. Not the game itself.
You CAN play the game... just dload the stolen internal build. But Im not up for ruining this game witha hacked "Beta"

Guys, trust me when I tell you that Doom 3 will be out by E3 this year, which is in mid-May..

HL2, depending on exactly what they are doing because of the source-code issues, could be anytime in 04....

I'm curious, who do you work for?
