i will still burn xvid's from my HTPC, but that's because I will make season compilations, and to free up hard disk space. its a 160gb in the HTPC, sure I could upgrade it, but more than one disk is also definitly a no-no.

I'd say for around $200 you could get a modded xbox with a bigger drive in it and a wireless access point (flash a WRT54G with the DD-WRT firmware for a $50 WAP) that will be every bit as good as a HTPC, except for the video recording part of it.
