So...what's the consensus on T-Bird steppings?

I've heard different things from dozens of different people...AXIA's are the best, AXIA y's...they're all the same, they all suck, etc, etc. So have the hardware guru's come to an agreement? Is there one stepping that's better than any other?

...or is there a comprehensive article/database somewhere that I can look?

I have an AXIA "#" chip and it does every bit of its advertised 1400 average overclock. Here is a list of average overclocks by stepping

That article is wrong about the AYHJA 1.33 hitting 1660. I haven't met anyone that has accomplished that feat...1600+ is doalbe but very hard...and we're talking low 1600's. Mine's @ 1540...plan to go to 1.6 with my new PSU.

Hmm...according to that article, the AXIAR 'Y' stepping chips look like a great buy for 1GHz. Anybody have one of these?

I have it, doing 1.37GHz on Epox 8K7A. On my Iwill KK266 it was doing 1.4GHz easily. Don't know what the problem is.

Where do you check to see what the steppin gis? Is it labeled on the cpu or something? Am I an idiot?

Is there a CPU overclocking database somewhere on the web where users have given their CPU information (default spd, o/c spd, voltage, stepping code, etc)?
