Many of the items on your list suck ass or just couldnt possibly live up to the insane hype.

Did World in Conflict get released late last year, or early this year?
I didnt get it until Feb, but I think it had been out before that.
 
FALLOUT 3, COME ON!!! Spore is supposed to be coming out soon, too.

Mass Effect and Devil May Cry 4 are coming to the PC this year

The Penny Arcade game should be good, although short

HL2: Ep3 is supposedly coming out in 2008, but no official month

I think Starcraft 2 is coming out, too, but who knows

I think the lists between the two sites are basically the same.
There is also a 2006 list somewhere.

Normally I am not a fanboy one way or the other, but I should point out that MOST of the stuff we were supposed to have in each year usually doesnt come out.
It either dies entirely or gets delayed yet another year.
The handful of titles we actually get tend to be major letdowns.

EDIT 2: Though I should point point out that I am excited about some of the less popular stuff like Disciples and other sleeper hits.

Yes he did, and this once again just conclusively proves that other people are idiots.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 are a couple high profile releases that hit recently. Unfortunately, I don't give a damn about either one so it doesn't mean much to me.

I'm pretty much sitting on my thumbs until Mass Effect comes out. Other than that and STALKER: Clear Sky, there's really nothing on the schedule this year that I give a crap about.

Edit: I realize that StarCraft 2 and Episode 3 are both "supposed" to come out this year. StarCraft 2 MIGHT make it out for the holidays. Episode 3 is a late 2009 release at the earliest.
 
I think a new Dawn of War game is supposed to be coming out...eventually.

Oops - idiot here😛...I misunderstood. Didn't realize he was talking about games already out. Plus DOW2 looks like an '09 release.

both crysis and stalker were medicore at best, many people feel this way, those 2 dont count as "many" but IMO they wernt that good

We could argue over how good they are, but I think there is some agreement that they don't "suck ass".

And anyone who thinks stalker and crysis both suck ass needs to stop playing FPS games because the genre is basically wasted on you.

Most of the big titles don't come out till around fall and up to Christmas. Until then enjoy Sins of a Solar Empire, Sam & Max episodes, Audiosurf, and Sins of a Solar Empire.

BTW, did I mention Sins of a Solar Empire.

COD4 is again not the answer. it is for some but it is more pretty to look at than other things.

my whole point is there are slim pickins. you got cod4 and tf2. fow was a failure so far, quake wars the same. unreal has failed. we need more choices!

cod4 sucks for pubbin - maps are too small there is little variety of the bigger kind. also the shooting through so many walls with most any gun is retarded, a lot of competitive gamers are po'd about that.

A good multiplayer game should last longer than a year. I played Quake 1 for 11 years. Check the mods for HL2. There are literally hundreds of them, mods like dystopia. Unless you've played all of them, you can't really comment.

If anything, the FPS multiplayer scene is incredibly diluted right now.

Have you played Warsow? QuakeLive is also coming soon.

whta is the best mod for HL2 that has the most active community of multiplayers?

im only interested in online multi FPS, not campaigns.

I haven't bought anything for the PC since Crysis in early December of last year. Lucky I got a PS3 after Christmas so I ended up with a few triple AAA titles. Unfortunately I'm poor and don't feel like switching between inputs on my monitor or receiver so my PS3 hasn't been used for a month. Oh, and I had a lot of school work. Guess I'm waiting for GTA 4 or my next credit card grace period...
 
RB6 Vegas 2 is suppose to be good, although they really should have done more with it in the 1.5 years or so since the first one came out. If they fixed the multiplayer to be better than what it was in the first one, that could be a multiplayer FPS to check out.

Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat is a fairly tactical HL2 mod. Not a huge following, and of course everyone is always waiting for the next big update, but a very high quality mod IMO.

I still haven't even played Ep2 (since I'm not done with ep1), and I will have tons more time with TF2, STALKER, COD4, and others before I will get bored. So although the first half or so of 2008 seems to be slow, I don't mind.

I wish Frontlines and Quake Wars didn't flop. I haven't played Frontlines but it just stinks that such a talented group of developers weren't able to make a better game or get better sales. Same with Quake Wars, although I do like QW quite a bit. Same thing with UT3.

edit: Novalogic's new game, Delta Force something or other, has been coming soon for a while, so I think it will be released soon. They haven't had a new game in so long (and DFX and JO were so very similar to previous games). If their new DF game is like Joint Ops with no cheating and updates all around, it will be a friggin' blast online... 150 players! 🙂
