Is the $2500 purely disposable income? Or do u pay bills with cash also.

It's just the way us Japs are brought up. I use the card if I'm buying online and use checks now to pay rent etc. Otherwise the rest is cash. I guess most of it is disposable.

But if you lose the wallet you lose a boat load of money.

At one time I carried almost no cash (use a credit card for everything possible....NEVER use a debit card), but I had an embarassing incident when I went out to dinner with some guys and the host insisted on putting everything on his card. And I didn't have the cash to pay him my share. So I had to go out to an atm to get his money. Now I try to carry at least $100. There are just too many possible scenarios where cash is NEEDED. Yard sales. Bribes. Power goes out across city. Etc.

No, I'm saying that I'm stupid for carrying so much cash around. All I have to do is lose my wallet or get mugged and ... well, you get the picture.

How is that embarassing? Sorry, I have no cash, I'll get you later or put half on my card and half on yours...end of story

We routinely go out and put things on 5 or 6 cards
