My parents had one of those when I was little (under 10 yrs old) and I can still remember how heavy it was and how cruddy the water got in the base.

I didn't know they still sold those.

They work well at capturing Dirt/Dust, but are too freakin expensive.

yup, my mom bought one a couple years ago. i told her she was nuts for spending that much.

I recently bought a Shark Navigator for $160 plus tax at Sears. Love this thing for the fact that it picks up dog hair and dirt like no other. Great on my wood floors as well. The purple color is hard to bear though.

I like my Dyson fine, but not for the $500-600 they go for new. I got my refurbished for $329.
