My mom is out of town for the month along w/ brother and she usually got him all the presents - what should I get?

Things to note:
- not really a book reader
- loves the outside ( hiking, trail, fishing, etc )
- sports ( volleyball, soccer )
- far from a techie/geek

Just any random cool gadgets or household appliances, will take any suggestions provided its reasonably priced under $500 and I could get it within a day or two.
