When Half Life 2 was origionally announced to be released and when I was going to get my new (current) computer. The amd athlon xp "barton" 2500+ was all the rage being able to oc to 3200+ speeds for only 90 bucks at Newegg.

I had a PIII 700 at the time too.. ran happily at 980 on my Soyo SY-6BA+IV mobo 🙂

Yeah well I was looking for a place to get free pr0n and I ended up on a site with a bunch of men. Talk about a total disappointment!
 
hmm, I think it was at the time of the 1GHz T-birds...the AYHJAR, IIRC. Bought one, but ended up having to sell it due to financial trouble.
 
Celeron 366's overclocked to 550. With a bunch of hype of the upcoming "coppermines".

Yep, I remember them fondly I ended up getting a 1ghz t-bird, a Radeon DDR 64mb, and an Iwill KK266

They still aren't dead. I know at least one enthusiast that still swears by them. He's from Saskatchewan, though, so he's supposed to be flipping insane.
