How the hell do these people keep their jobs being that naive? I mean dont you have to be no BS type in business. FFS give me that job.

Even now, only pre-approved jump drives can be plugged into DoD computers, and only one certain super-duper brand can be used.......oh, and they cost something like $1600 EACH. 😱

The IronKey, right?

We've basically been without our network the entire day. Internet has been off and on (mostly off) all day, and something like 100 people need to have their laptops re-imaged tonight.

It is the Armageddon.

All I know is that our tech people are "working to contain the spread of the virus" and that "the virus is a new variant and is self mutating in nature."

It hasn't quite been 28 days yet, but I'm already thirsty for brains and find myself spitting an unusual amount of blood at people when they get near me. WTF is going on here?

Hahaha. That's tech speak for "What the fuck is this? Shit, fuck, shit, fuck. Mothershitter."

I know, I've used similar lines.

Don't recall. Pretty much, we were told to never ever expect to use flash drives again, since we didn't have a real need for them.

Sure did give a boost to the blank cd manufacturers, though! Now, when you need pictures off your work camera, you take the camera to the IT folks. They'll plug it in to a laptop (usually) that's never going to be plugged into the network (usually an older model, probably only kept around for this purpose now), and download the pics, then burn them to a cd for you, which is considered safe to put in the computers connected to the network.

I wonder how long it will be before one of those cd's is burned with a virus on it, and then we won't be able to do that anymore?? 🙄

meh...I have a difficult time caring about ANYTHING that causes lawyers grief...😛

Lawyers are like politicians...the only good one is mine.

apparently a really GOOD virus. Congrats!

This is EXACTLY what I thought. The BS meter went WAY off the chart when I read that line too.

+1

Working with multiple business owners on a daily business, REALLY has me concerned about how these people run their business. I say this because they bring me an infected laptop and tell me it's their life and they NEED it to survive. Yet they visit facebook/myspace/unnecessary social networking sites/etc., and wonder why it is they get infected. "But I never visit stuff that's infected. I never open emails that look suspicious."

I am sure that's the case. That will be $45 and I will see you next week for your next virus removal! /facepalm

Same thing happened here. We ended up having to take down webmail because people were too stupid to not fall for phishing attempts. It may be back eventually, but with two-factor authentication.

This shit ass excuse totally reminds me of episode 4 of The Website is Down where he "recomputes the hash" on all the passwords on the network because of some ridiculous software. To get out of it they make up a fake virus attack. LOL http://www.thewebsiteisdown.com/
