Reminds me of when I first encountered ASMR videos on Youtube.
I do find that some for-profit videos are either useful, or entertaining, but i detest their nature. And while the passion of a channel, say, like The Great War can push me over, or even a channel like Jotun Studio that is marketing, but ... not as manipulative .. i would still want to (metaphorically) burn all the Yogscasts and pewdiepies of youtube, who create content not out of passion but only for a paycheck.
I love that show. I couldn't believe it was still on either. Last week I saw their video on the McLaren 570 spider where the voiceover talked about that great feeling of having the wind blow through your hair while the video had a bald guy driving it. The announcer guy has a soothing voice, but that show almost never has anything bad to say about any car.
he does a good apple rant or tenLately i've been watching a lot of louis rossman repair crapple products..
I go through phases - quadcopters > documentaries recreating old/ancient lifestyles > hauntings/spirit activity > cryptids, monstrosities > home improvement, home search > why I quit [retail store] > my Xfactor/Idol experience > what's wrong with music > prank videos
You get the idea.
Expats abroad, like Harald Baldr, serpentza, laowhy86, ADVChina, Lost in the Pond, etc.
Electronics hobby and repair gurus like EEVBlog, Voultar, GadgetUK167, GameTechUS, RetroRGB, etc
Vintage tech, like LGR, TechMoan, 8BitGuy, etc
Science/physics, like Thunderf00t, Cody’sLab, Sharkee, PBS Space Time, Minute Physics, and more.
Aerospace like Mustard, Scott Manley, Vintage Space, Curious Android, etc
Humor like RedLetterMedia, ScreenJunkies, Epic Rap Battles of History, Political Juice, etc
History/facts like Knowing Better, Extra Credits, Today I Found Out, Fact Fiend, etc
Thanks, but it doesn’t get any deeper than those.Awesome, I picked up a few new things to watch! If you get a chance, what other science/physics channels do you watch?
Thanks, but it doesn’t get any deeper than those.
Scott Manley kinda blurs the line since he talks a lot about orbital mechanics. SciShow / SciShow Space cover a lot of breakthroughs and news. Kurzgesagt - In a Nutshell somehow manages to convey a lot of complicated stuff in a simple, mainstream way. SmarterEveryDay is kind of a fun ride with a (former?) NASA guy. engineerguy goes into everything from harmonic frequencies in bridge construction to draft angles in injection molding. Mr Carlson’s Lab, Marco Reps (his deadpan is an acquired taste ), Afrotechmods, etc are electronics channels that sometimes delve into physics and underlying theory. I already saw someone mention Technology Connections, which is one part Techmoan and one part engineerguy.
