Just curious on your opinions of the new consoles. I don't think I will be rushing out to buy anything as soon as they are released, but I would probably go for the Sony based on my early thoughts. I am just curious to see what everyones opinion is.

Just wait and see which one is better after they're out

It's no point to judge from current facts which might be changed

I agree but I'm sure, from what I have seen at E3, that everyone has to have an early opinion on what they like or think that they will be buying.

I'll probably go for Xbox 360 eventually. Sony soured me with their shoddy build quality and S#ITTY DVD drives. I don't care how good the games are, if the console breaks every year it's pointless.

The xbox 720 is going to kill PC gaming!

Whatever has more games that interest me when they drop console prices.

Okay I'd put down my vote...

I personally never owned an Xbox so I'm biased. And I am happy with the PS3 show so I might go for that.
Again I have to see when they are out.

XBox 360

Superior online play is the selling point for me. Plus it was fun to play Need For Speed at E3.

True I have heard many people complain about how the PS2 is always breaking....I have never thrown mine around or anything it's about 4 years old and never a problem. I think you got a lemon, I also own an XBOX so I am not being biased in my opinion, I think they both have their own advantages.

The one reason given is the online ability of the 360, which I agree will most definately be better then the Sony.

BUT the thing is right, OK so say the XBOX 360 will be $300 + as everyone says. You have have to pay $50-60 a game and then you have to suscribe to Xbox live. YOU also have to PAY TO DOWNLOAD NEW MAPS/CONTENT. As stated on the anandtech homepage in one of the articles. And i can bet £100000000000000 that everyone is going to need to upgrade their 20GB xbox HDD's pretty quickly and they will cost a bundle.

Every one forgets all the additional costs.

Very good point....and the $300 is speculation no official word yet as well as no official word on the costs of the games.

PS3 and Whatever Nintedo is gonna call their new one. Actually 2 of each as my son has his own PS2 and Gamecube as do I. Why no Xbox? Cuz I dont like the current one. There has not been one game that 1. I liked or 2. that wasnt available on the PC (my preffered gaming choice).

Cheers, yes of course thats true, no one knows the prices but we will have to wait and see! I think the Nintendo console won't sell very well ONCE AGAIN. I mean look at the gamecube, its a great console but hardly no one had one! Plus since Sony and Microsoft have released the info on their consoles... everyone is saying "hmmm ... XBOX 360 OR PS3"... if Nintendo would have released the details on the console then a few people might have said "yeah im going for the next gen nintendo" but NO!

I'm still not sure if I'll be getting any at all, it really depends on the availability of any games that interest me and look impressive.

I've been a Nintendo fanboy, but I think I will be cutting them off this generation. Right now I am leaning toward PS3, but price might be a big factor (games, accessories, etc.).

Definitly the xbox 360. I don't particularlly like microsoft, but I have an xbox and enjoy using it. Plus, the 360's specs are pretty impressive. I'm confident that the 360's specs are just as good as the PS3's. And with games like Oblivion, Quake IV and Gears of war all coming out within the launch window. I'm there...

I have heard some reports about the PS3 costing between $399-$499 at launch. I really have no idea, its going to be completely based on the games and I am not going to buy a console until all 3 are out anyway. Hell, I will probably end up buying/borrowing the Revolution at some point just to play the next gen Zelda games which is the only reason I would be interested in a Nintendo system at this point. If I had to pick one right now it would be PS3 because of past success of the previous 2 PlayStation, plus, I have a PS2 so I can keep my old library.

Both XBOX 360 and Playstation 3.

Nintendo didn't give any info on their console at E3, so I'm certainly not saving money for something I dunno anything about...

edit : And I think it's a BIG mistake from their part, I losed all interest, and won't save up $ for them.

Get it right, Nintendo consoles ARE MADE FOR Zelda games! :)

Well for a console that 'apparently' has a GPU more powerful than a 6800 Ultra SLi, I'd consider that cheap.

It's already been announced that XBox Live will have two service tiers when the 360 is available. A silver plan will be available for free. Under the free plan you'll be able to get patches, content and maps. The gold plan will allow you to play against other people. I'm speculating that it also allows for some "special content" not available to the silver plan members.

That information may change in the next few months, but that's what one of their reps at E3 was explaining to me.

I've never owned an XBox. Went from the really old consoles to N64 & Gamecube and PS1 & PS2. Now I'll be moving over to the XBox 360 based solely on the superior online play. If PS3 really does something to "WOW" me then I'll think of buying one. Otherwise my decision will stay with the 360.

PS3 and probably a Revolution. It's all about the games. I still haven't seen an XBox exclusive title that interests me in the slightest. Nintendo is the best game maker out there and has a knack for releasing games that are simply fun, it's unfortunate their 3rd party support is so lack luster, though it is pretty much their fault.

I bought a PS2 the day it came out, and it still works fine, except for the controllers which are way too fragile. Luck of the draw. Now the PS1 on the otherhand, is there anyone who bought a first gen that didn't have hardware problems? Flipping the console upside was pretty much as famous as blowing into your NES to get it to work.

Another reason im getting a PS3 to update my current ps2 is its full backward compatibility with ps1 and ps2. From what i have been reading the xbox 360 will only have "big seller games" backward compatibility in "emulation mode". I still play FF7 :). Dont know how MS plan to use emulation but the fact that only big seller games will be compatible kinda sux, of course all this may change as MS has the $$$ to do what they want.
