Since I've gotten into Pandora, I've pretty much lost interest in everything else.

The Amazon download manager is harmless, it only runs when the browser is sent an AMZ file like Aluvus said, similar to how the browser loads Adobe Reader for a PDF or QuickTime for a MOV.

It's not some kind of always-running DRM or something that hijacks all future browser downloads.

It's not even like adobe reader or quicktime player because the manager is much more lightweight. It just downloads the songs and either adds them into wmp or itunes if you want it to. Nothing else.
