So what LCD would you buy? Edit: aawww crap!

A 15" as a second monitor,

Edit 2: I don't have the desk space for a 17" LCD... I am looking at the planar 15" from dell. Would you get that one, or spend $100 more to get the "dell" FP with DVI? The Planar monitor has no DVI.

Edit: Dammit, my video card doesn't support dual monitors 🙁 Looks like I need to upgrade the video card and then the monitor 😉 😀

Lots of fricken $ though 🙁

If you do any gaming/DVD watching, you may want to stick with a CRT for your primary display..if not, you probably won't be too happy with a $300 17" LCD (assuming you can find one).

Agreed. It isn't worth it to skimp on these.

I just measured my desk, and it looks like I only have room for a 15" LCD. I have a 19" flatscreen sony that will be my main monitor. I want a good 15 LCD to be my secondary monitor for me to put menus and other items on when I am workin in Photoshop or Illustrator and such....

What do you think of Envision?

Agreed again.

I was ready to pay $300 to buy a 15" LCD a year ago, fortunately I posted about it on here and people told me what a moron I was.

So I saved up and bought a Dell 1900FP (rebadged Samsung 191T) and I'm ever so glad that I didn't go ghetto LCD.

Save up another $100 or so, wait a month or two and maybe you'll be able to score a Dell 1800FP LCD.

Yup....I ended up getting a 19" Planar from dell.... worth every penny.

Any other suggestions? I am still using a sony 19" flat crt as my main one, I just want a second monitor to use in photoshop, ill etc, so I can drag the menus off to the side on the new monitor. Then I will also be viewing the occasional webpage and what have you on the second monitor. Response times really arent that important to me......

If you're really craving a 2nd monitor then just get a cheapo 17" CRT for $100.

I dont have the deskspace. I have 14-15 inches of horizontal space next to my current monitor.... I see the dell FP is only 13.7 inches wide so that is a good possibility, too bad its twice as much 🙁

yeah those are really nice...bro has the 1800FP one...nice stuff.....

Does Digital video make a big differance on a 15" LCD screen? What if I just use a DVI to analog convertor block....?
