If your talking about difficulty, this is an easy question.

Get Ninja Gaiden or Ninja Gaiden: Black and beat it on the hardest difficulty. You will become a god

I coulda sworn we just had this topic not too long ago.

My vote is for about half the games on the NES.
Remember the days of piss-poor control and no playtesting?

Lots of weird little companies were putting out horrible games just to make money on the system.

I was thinking of some of the more challenging games I've played like Z.
But many of those challeging games were also really good and fun to play.

Nope, frustration is when you cant figure anything out or make any progress.
This is especially bad when you are 8 and dont have the common sense to stop playing.

I remember being able to beat that game in 2 hours (getting all the items and powerups along with saving the children).

Battletoads, TMNT, Top Gun, and Blaster Master were the games I could not finish... w/o emulation.

I remember beating Ghouls 'n Ghosts on the Genesis and it didn't seem that tough. Never tried Super Ghosts 'n Goblins.

I'd also like to nominate Lands of Lore II: Guardians of Destiny. Loved the original game, but this game was beyond frustrating.

Top Gun for NES was a bitch. Specifically, landing.

landing in a real flight sim is much much easier than landing in that game . . .
landing a real plane is probably easier than landing in that game

Bwahahahaha! True!

lol, what parts? That game was awesome, but it did have some annoying puzzles. For me, planting the silverleaf plant underneath a glass pyramid to release a fireball which causes a door to open was the worst offender. Overall it could be pretty fun, however.

The original Police Quest! I could not get past the poker playing with the mobsters, and the map was impossible to navigate!

What's so difficult about Bubble Bobble? Anyhow, it's still one of my all time favourite games.

Bingo! That's the first one that came to mind when I saw this thread!

Mega Man 3 is a close second. Don't know why everyone is griping about Mega Man 2 though. I can still finish that game in one 45min sitting on the Mega Man Anniversary for PS2.
