i dont get lacross, you just run around with a ball in a pouch on the end of the stick and then lob it into a goal .. seems pretty easy to me 😛

Its a hard sport to play, but its also hard in the fact that you get the sh!t kicked out of you. You get to hit people with thoughs sticks when the ref isnt looking.

hahaha sounds good to me

agree

its the worlds most popular sport for a reason

Obligatory: "So if everyone does it it must be the best?"

And I think it is the most popular because it is the most simple. People+ball+goals=international football.

Doesn't get much simpler than that.

The same can be said for basketball and football.

umm not really, pro basketball stops about ever 5 seconds because someone scores a point and it all resets, college basketball has much much more build up for each point, and is actually fun to watch unlike the NBA

and football is even worse, 5-10 seconds of play followed by 2 minutes of nothing, repeat for 4 hours

5 seconds eh? I guess that is why there is a 20 second shotclock...which is often used up entirely. I can see you don't watch much basketball of any kind.

Yes, the play itself isn't long, but 2 minutes of nothing? You are joking right? There is a playclock..a 25 second playclock. 4 hours? The longest game EVER in the NFL was 82 minutes, and 42 seconds. Good job...that is definitely close to 4 hours.

Edit: And to many people who don't like soccer, including myself...it is just 90 minutes of a kicking around a ball and scoring a few goals.

Kind of bias since I'm Canadian but clearly hockey is the best sport. The fastest game on the planet, have to master 2 skills to play the game. Although they cancelled the season this year, the on-ice product for the up-coming season should be much better *fingers crossed*

yes the actually game play was for 80 minutes but it takes hours to accomplish that, fiitball games that start at 2pm end around 6 pm, that looks like 4 hours to me, when you factor in every damn comercial they have its true, and yes i was over generalizing however both basketball and football are too herky jerkey and definitly do not flow, adn you are right i dont watch the NBA because it sucks, i do watch college ball because it is interesting, and there is much less showing off, i love watching football but in a perfect world there would be no comercials and no stops other then quarters and 1/2 time

soccer has teh longest span of playing of any sport, 45 min that just doesnt stop, except for injust or som other incedent when the ref stops the game, but most often its whistle, point kick game resumes

Yeah..but how the hell can you factor in commercials to the game itself? It is more exciting during the time it is actually on when compared to soccer anyway. If by herky jerkey you mean "exciting" then yes. Soccer is boring to me and many other americans...Ive seen games go pretty much the entire 90 minutes without a goal. How fvcking worthless is that..it is pathetic.

And I said basketball of ANY kind, not just NBA. And do they have no commercials during soccer matches?

yea at 1/2 time, the game is on for 45 minutes for NO interuptions from any outside source at all

and you can factor in the comericials because if im watching it on tv you cant fing avoid them

That is impressive that they can avoid showing any commercials during the 45 minutes..or is it that way because over here you have to pay to get the channels to watch the games in the first place? As you know, here every NFL game, according to region, is free on network tv....

Its a hard sport to play, but its also hard in the fact that you get the sh!t kicked out of you. You get to hit people with thoughs sticks when the ref isnt looking.
You might wanna try hurling, if you think runnin about with a ball in the pouch is difficult.

The people slating soccer really amaze me, sure everyone has a difference of opinion... but to say soccer sucks or it is an easy game is a bit wild, while most of these people are American choosing either American Football, Baseball, or Basketball, all sports that are driven by countless timeouts. American Football the weak mans rugby is probably the worst for it, is there continuous play for more than 1min? Wouldnt think so they'd probably all be out of breath by then with the amount of body armour they have on. What about Baseball, that's just as bad as cricket... used to but it on to sleep at night, nothing happens. Basketball is probably the only sport that is credible.

Anyway, maybe it is cause USA do not dominate the sport, maybe it is cause there are no good matches to watch as it is pay per view to get european games there, I dunno. But the tactics, the work effort, the skill, etc all plays a vital part at the top level in the sport.

Beat me to it lad.

I played when I lived in Cork... The hardest part is maintaining yer gait when you have some rugby amadon crashing into your backside...
