In another thread, there was concern about raising MPG expectations above "reasonable" levels.
That got me wondering, what will happen as gas becomes in short supply for real and/or economic pressures push us away from internal combustion engines. How will people transition to fuel cells or whatever, when they have so much money tied up in what they are currently driving? Should there be a tax credit or something? This is going to cost hundreds of billions of dollars, at least. Place your bets now!
