I wrote him in for my selection last year. Just couldn't bring myself to vote for either Bush or Gore.

Uh...because Dubbya was pushed by the rank and file Republicans since day 1. They more or less declared him the candidate before the primaries even took place.

A McCain vs. Gore election would have been something to really think about and I would have been leaning towards McCain, As it was, I had to vote NOT Bush.

Yah, I couldn't vote for either so I voted for Nader. Sure, he is a crackpot but at least he is fairly honest. If McCain would have been the republican candidate though, I would have voted for him.

Many registered democrats would have crossed party lines to vote for him as well according to the polls done. Unfortunately he did not have the political or financial clout that was backing G.W. :( I don't know how effective of a pres. he'd be but I know he loves this country with all his being and has proved it above and beyond in his life and I believe he would be guided in his actions accordingly with honor and reverence for this great land.
