I thought I'd ask and see what everyone is running, I'm not exactly thrilled about putting bootcamp on my machine although I may have to for Fallout 3.

I'm running:

Spore
Quake 4
Doom 3
AOE 3

Quinn.

How's Spore btw? I heard there's about a 20% performance loss in OSX vs. in Windows due to Cider?

I was playing Empire at War, Heroes of Might and Magic 5, Jedi Knight 2 and some others, but since I got my desktop up and running again, I really just play Sudoku.

I play warcraft 3, ut2004, spore, and diablo 2. I have had no issues with spore at all, it runs fast and looks great.

Warcraft III, Starcraft, maybe I'll get Spore.

I refuse to play any FPS's on OSX until there's an official way to disable mouse acceleration.

I'll have to get Enemy Territory rolling.

Spore runs perfectly for me, although I am on a 8 core with 6 gigs of ram.

Used to play Diablo II:LoD and Fallout. After the 10.5.3 graphics drivers borked 256 color support on the BlackBook, I had been rolling back the drivers on each update. 10.5.5 has made that impossible too... so no gaming for me.

Apple please fix 256 color support with the X3100! PLEASE!

I generally don't game on my MBP, but I have fired up the EVE-Online client, which seems to work pretty well.

With Crossover Pro I'm hoping to play SW:KOTOR I and II all over again, this time on my blackbook. I hope the X3100 graphics doesn't suck too badly on KOTOR.

Oh wow.. That game was a beast to run on my 9800Pro, I can't imagine that the X3100 would be able to handle it... but it might.

I've seen TheStu run KOTOR 1 on his MacBook with GMA950, so you should be fine for that.

Bear in mind that it was not exactly the best gaming experience. Whereas Tyranicus was able to run it at full settings and res, I had to dial things back and run at a lower res. The x3100 is right in between the GMA950 and the ATi X1600, so Megatomic should be able to either play it at a lower res, but dial the settings up, or at full res, but the settings on low...

To be honest I've played it twice and gotten frustrated. I have never played COD 4 so I cant compare it to the PC but I am a MacRumours forums reg. On there half the people say the performance is pretty much on par with the PC and others have said it sucks.

I thought the COD 4 gameplay was gonna be a lot different - theres something about it that rubs me the wrong way. I need to go on Mac Rumours and find what other people who have the early 08 mac book pros are doing in terms of settings cause i think im underutilizing and overusing my gpu at the same time. You know how these games are in OSX with AA and stuff. I'd say its worth the money though - it seems to be a solid port and they quickly patched it to match the windows version.

I think the best game I ahve ever played on OS X outside of wow is Quake Wars. Its so well done and lots of fun.

I would suggest using Crossover Games not Pro - as games is optimized for os x gaming.
