I'm no marketer, but I'm not seeing where you could go next with the iPod, from a practical standpoint. I can see video as a future direction. The new iPod nano is cool, but if I had $300 to spend on an iPod, I'd rather get a regular-sized color unit because it fits in my hand better and is easier to manipulate. The hard drive size is huge - I'm willing to bet not too many people have 60gb of MP3's. If they added a card reader, that'd be cool for a photo dump on the color iPod. Discuss.

Only if they want it to cost $700. Apple is already getting the nano's flash chips at an obscene discount.

At this point they might as well look into making a Sony PSP killer. They've got the marketing, the only problem would be getting the games.
