Abit IC7-G with 113 BIOS
2x512mb of Twinmos Windbond CH5 chips
2.4c @ 3.0ghz at default voltage with 250mhz FSB and 5:4 ratio.
At 1:1 ratio, I can push the FSB\Memory to 225mhz.
At 5:4 ratio, I can only go to 250mhz before the PC is unable to boot (Not even to POST screen). I've tried putting the CPU voltage up to 1.7, and that didn't help.
at 3:2 ratio, 255mhz works somewhat, it boots, but if I restart it won't go to the POST screen.
So, do you guys think I just got a not-so-great-for-overclocking P4? (I'm thinking about picking up another one to test, but I don't really want to
).
I propbably wouldn't even ask, but I thought it was weird how it would do 3.0ghz @ default, and not any higher even when putting up the voltage.
Also, I noticed theres a ton of settings for memory, and I don't know what most of them do..
Examples:
Refresh Cycle Time
Read Delay (tRD)
Read Delay Adjust (tRD Adj)
Command Per Clock (CPC)
Performance Mode
What should they be at?
