SAP consultant.

Ditto.

I think I'd kill myself if I had to work with SAP every day. 🙂

My title is Sr. Software Developer.

But since we went live with MS Dynamics AX in November (along with several other related manufacturing systems), our only other developer left in January, I'm too busy fixing shit to actually have time to do any development.
So my real job right now is "overpaid help desk guy". I guess it's better than being an underpaid help desk guy.

I work for a company that makes microporous plastic membranes. Our products are used for medical and industrial filtration, as well as being used in rechargeable batteries. Chances are good that your laptop and cell phone have our products in them. And if you need dialysis or drive a hybrid, you're probably using our products too.

I like my job, when I actually get to do development.

Field Serivce Engineer for a large manufacturer of laboratory analyzers. Basically, I'm a glorified Maytag repairman, except the appliances on which I work are significantly more expensive and the work that they do is critically important. If I knew how to draw my own blood, though, I could test myself for all sorts of diseases and conditions.

I love it, still. The perks are unbelievable.

Geology graduate student (I'm a TA while in school) about to enter a major oil & gas company this summer as a geologist.

A Civil Engineering student
In the summer I work at a Scout camp as a ranger (will be starting that in a couple weeks, yay!)

I do web apps for a large company - create/talk to databases and design interfaces for a typical end-user, pretty much have control from start to finish. It really is the only thing on a PC I can see myself enjoy doing as a career. Finally expanding my skillset in a corporate setting this year (they threw me to the wolves) - it's just the right amount of challenge everyday. BUT I can't see myself doing this for another 30 years. At some point I won't care about trying for higher income and just do what I like outside of an "office".
