<< You are already stressing over this girl. If you want to spend the rest of your life suffering from anxiety then go for it. Two years into your marriage, after having a kid, you're going to find out that she's banging the landlord or the gardener. You can fill in the blanks. >>

I'm guessing you didn't look at the username. ;) You're speaking, presumably, to the newest female member of ATOT

<< lol, my girlfriend is high maintenance also. Her philosophy is work hard, play hard so it's not like she's a charity case. That kind of HM girl is ok with me >>

Pundit, that's exactly the kind of HM girl I was talking about. ;)

Hey, what ever makes you happiest - there are guys who like high-maintenance, and guys who like low-key girls.

My personal feeling is that high maintenance is very important for some occasions, but totally unnecessary at other times.

And shopping is fun. Well, I enjoy it in any case. And work hard, play hard is a good attitude.

well, i don't see how any rational guy would want a high maintenance girl.... but whatever floats your boat i guess. maybe i'm just lazy (and jaded), but low maintenance is my cup of tea.

anyways, welcome.

You obviously don't understand women. High maintenance means they want a guy with money. Money is just the result of productivity. Why shouldn't girls want a guy that is a productive member of society?

I would run the other way.
I used to date a girl who modeled those clothes, and she wasn't high maintenance.
I would rather date a girl who is a doctor or willing to go with me to help poor kids in other countries.

I liked them when I was younger. They were always nice arm ornaments and good for a toss in the hay. I married a down to earth girl, though.

That must be the mode I'm in right now, though it's not really applicable to who I'm seeing. :) Mmm, high maintainence. Tend to be the dainty, short skirt-wearing flirty type. Got to love 'em, as long as you don't have to put up with them more than 2 days of the week at a time. ;)

er- sully, doesn't the two days at a time thing kinda negate the high maintenance? If they're high maintenance, two days isn't going to keep them around.

Well...except for one occasion I've never actually tried to keep a high maintainance girl around anyway. Selfish as it sounds, it's usually not worth putting up with the whole act and the inevitable issues she's got to work with her through her inner troubles. Of course, after helping her with all of her troubles she usually takes off anyways because you're the last thing reminding her of them.

HM girls also seem to think the same way as guys do about relationships - that is, "I'll have fun and mess around till I'm about 25, then find someone worth sharing a life with." At that point one can brag about their wild youth and not be worried that you missed out on anything by committing too early. For a long time I thought everyone thought that way!

P.S. Good to see you around again, HotChic. Where the heck you been? :)

P.s I am one of them :)

I unfortunately don't have enough time to give it to them...wouldn't mind it if I didn't go to school or have a job or do anything fun..

Now, 10 months later I am thin, fit, and have a fresh PhD from Cornell. Oh and linuxboy got me a great deal on a slightly used Pinto. Best service EVAR.

John Schwartzkovskinofsky from Houston, TX.

I used to be a dead beat crack smoker before I met linuxboy. With his revolutionary doctoral thesis writing, I am now married, have two beautiful daughters and I even managed to finish am MBA from Harvard. Thanks linuxboy !!!

GWB from Washington DC

satisfaction guaranteed. Here's a trial sample:

Histrionic personality disorder found in adolescent and early adulthood stages of development of caucasian females impact secure attachment of heterosexual couples. Recent accounts of woeful tales of female treachery on ATOT (Lal Shimpi, 2002) provide narrative accounts supporting causal theories of histrionic ossification during early adolescent socialization. These accounts not only glean insight into typical female psychology but also support earlier notions of attachment influencing later mating patterns (linuxboy 2001, 2002; Moonbeam 2002). Among commonlly noticed patterns are "high-maintenance" females (HotChic 2002) and the associated fawning by pubescent males (baffled 2002, linuxboy 2002). I maintain that both fawning behaviors and "high-maintenance" females share a common causality contributing to histrionic disorders, namely the desire to prevent discovery (Athanasius 2001, linuxboy 2002, Moonbeam 2002, palek 2002). I argue that attachment directly influences later behaviors herein described and that the two are causally related, but not exclusive in etiology.

ACT NOW. CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOR THE BETTER.

Well, that was fun.

Look PrespaGirl, there's a point when "affection" becomes "pathological dependency". Dependence to some extent is necessary in a committed relationship. Rather, I should say interdependence. A sort of mutual balancing leading to a greater whole. When one member (you) engages in activities that may prove harmful (useless shopping), the behavior generally is disliked by your mate, especially if he is a man and not one of those nancy boys who have a penis but don't really know what to do with it. In other words, what is called "normal". If you meant "play hard and work hard" then that still proves problematic if "playing" is limitless, just like working can be. It can be a dual addiction or a dual pathology/disorder. Those are not very fun. Generally, males do not high-maintenance females because they often don't want to invest the time and because such people usually are pretty shallow. If you make the argument that the girl "likes to work hard and play hard" then the counterargument that follows would be "well yeah, but if she likes to play hard and work hard, then she can find the balance herself and just is interested in what can be built from the relationship that is impossible by oneself". Thus, I must say your position is rather weak. Although it was an admirable attempt. I also must add that HPD can be a real problem and if one has proclivities towards it, it is picked up as maladaptive and people like that are seen as "happykitten 2.0"

just my thoughts.

Hey pyonir, Darby, baffled and Hotchic :)

Cheers ! :)

Tell me about it. I was reading a study just yesterday telling me this very same finding. It seems that those who experiement with different OS's are also likely to experiment with goods from the weed tree.

It's a good thing I'm a conservative chap who runs win2k, else some befuddled bloke would indeed draw some fallacious inferences.

Cheers ! :)
