Now's your chance to gloat! But please, don't post about stuff you bought yourself. I really wanna know who's got the cool wifey/gf buying hardware!

I myself got a new ATI Radeon 8500LE. My dad accompanied me to CompUSA some weeks back when I was fruitlessly looking for those $80 128mb ATI cards and he saw my frustration. He only got me the 64mb one, but hey, at least I didn't have to pay for it!

Absolutely nothing. Never have gotten computer hardware and probably never will. I tend to buy whatver I want before anyone else has the time to even think about getting it for me.

I didn't get any computer equipment, but I don't need any.

My brother in-law got a new case, Athlon XP 2000+ retail box, and a motherboard. Only problem is the motherboard has no agp slot and it has only trident blade for it's onboard video.
I looked up the speed of the blade and it's slower than a TNT1

Instead of buying hardware for me, the GF decided to pick up a few things at VS for her to wear and my enjoyment.;)

No hardware here, I don't ask for PC parts.

1) I am VERY particular about what goes in my PC, I personally pick EVERY part - Right down to the $30 case fans that I love (mmm, quiet!). When you ask for hardware you either have to be somewhat rude (give model numbers) or put yourself at the risk of their best intentions.

2) PC hardware is not something I want to have "gift status" assigned to. I buy & sell hardware frequently, when I want to upgrade my old parts get sold to help finance the new parts. I don't feel comfortable telling someone that the video card they just bought me won't last more than six months in my system before being sold for 1/2 it's retail price to some random forum member.

If someone gives me money I have no problem telling them I'll be buying PC hardware with it (my grandparents gave me cash this year, I told them I'm buying a new CPU), but PC hardware is not something I ask for.

I just got tons of GCs to BB, CC, J. Crew etc. My family knows I buy any tech toys for myself. The futility of researching something only to find I already own it dawned upon them years ago. :)

I got a new sound card which I have to return because its the audigy platnium and I dont have another 5 1/4 slot.

I also got a 4 port KVM switch 2 sets of KVM cables a 25' cat5 patch cable.

I am going to use the bestbuy GC and the money from the audigy platnium to get me the deal with the audigy 2 and the creative 6.1 speakers for 180 after 2 MIR's.

Audigy Platinum should cover it w/out the GC (~$200 MSRP). If you are getting that much in PC Periphs, its worth your time to go out and get the 10% coupon from SI, Maxim or one of the other mags with it. Save yourself ~$25 beaners.

The Audigy Platnium should be at least $150. Thanks for the tip on the coupon about the 10% off.

The total cash up front with the Audigy and Speakers is going to be $240 but I will have $60 in MIR.
