I'm trying to make the most of my money when it comes to dj'n, and I'm buying cd's like crazy...

Should I buy cd's that only have like one song I like or just buy em anyways?

Or is it worth it to buy like those "now 7" cd's or whatever they are?

Thanks...

blanks, LOTS and LOTS of blanks. Maybe the actual CD for the occasional local band (if their mp3s aren't at mp3.com)

haha...how ironic. When you come here and say that you're going to use MP3s for DJing, everyone says "buy cds!!!" When you come in saying that you're going to buy CDs, everyone says "just use mp3s!!!"

LOL, oh well, good luck anyways! :D

hmm...so maybe try some reverse-psychology here and change your subject to which mp3s should I download for DJ'ing

<< Blank CD's are the answer. You can download anything now thanks to Morpheus.

winmx... :)

If you can avoid buying CDS, then avoid it. With free music flying around.... why not take advantage of it.

And if any of you momz are gonna say... but you have to support the music industry/artists.... how many MP3s do YOU have on your comptuer? ;) They have enough money, and if they don't, they didn't care of it.

I'm sorry that you guys are so awed by mp3's, but when running a dance and stuff, I'm sorry, but only legal cd's w/ripped mp3's will do...

I know it may sound stupid, but I'd rather pay $1,000 for 150 cd's than $250,000 for getting sued by the RIAA...

So what your saying is that I can go into the rich guys house down the street and take his stuff because he already has enough? What a dumbass thing to say.

Some CDs I recommend are:

Tricky - Blowback
Analog Brothers 5 - Pimp To Eat (new album with that old school sound)
Garbage - Beautiful

What the hell are you talking about?

I know a lot of DJ's who spin where I live and they all use burnt CD's. I've never seen a DJ get sued once YET.

And this is about 2-3 years now. So I don't know what you're talking about when you say you might get sued by the RIAA.

That's ridiculous, you should talk to some DJ's and ask them what they use, they'll say they download most of their crap. Unless they're spinning vinyl then thats a whole different story.

Ok, whatever you want to do you can do.

But even though you're using a computer the people there aren't going to know. It really would save you some money.

And honestly you should invest in a dual cd player so you can use a cd player instead of a whole computer, or maybe even turn tables.

I still want to buy cd's no matter what...

I feel if I'm making money off of this music, the artist best be making something too...

This isn't a MP3 vs. CD thread, I just wanted to know of some cd's that would be worth getting for the money.

Use 256-320kbps Mp3s burned on CDs.

I somehow doubt the RIAA has infiltrated local high schools and clubs with their agents.

I also believe suing Kazaa and morpheus and paying off politicians to pass te SSSCA and tech committes the CPRM is higher on their list of priorities than suing some local dj.....

You should get yourself a subscription to thoes CDs of the month club, or Hits of the week.

Its a club with a fee that sends you a new cd with all the hits on 1 cd, like every week or month, depending on what you pay.

And there are also other clubs for certain types of music, like classic rock and disco etc.
