Sitting here drinking beer and watching Rick Steve's is leaving us missing travel

Ha, we just watched an episode of Rick Steves. Looks like international travel is probably out this year for us.

In-person meeting. Being on the phone wit coworkers all day is really awful and counterproductive.

Going out to dinner with friends. I work a lot & spend the rest of the time with my family, so it's rare that I get to go out, but when I do, it's nice. Can't see friends, can't go out to restaurants. Double whammy.

Which episode? We just watched two of the Ireland ones - which covered parts of our first ever international trip

Seeing friends or family face to face.

And the idea of just being able to go into any store any time without much thought. Now I technically could do that anyway because lot of stuff is still open, but I'm being responsible and avoid store visits unless absolutely necessary. Some stores are also order/curbside pickup only such as hardware stores, so even if I want to cheat and I need something quick, it's not that easy now, have to order and wait. Generally though I'm seeing that as a minor inconvenience that I'm willing to live with until this is over.

At this point I'm not letting too much of it get to me, I'm just glad I still have a job. I could be in a much worse situation such as being laid off and wondering how I will pay all my bills, including anything that may be deferred. It still needs to get paid at some point.

On my days off I'm basically doing the same things I'd normally be doing like working on house projects and stuff.

my family. In the middle of this, my niece is dying. She has her immediate family with her, her parents, but the rest of us are staying away from them and each other.

Honestly, my life is not all that different. We have an infant, so we already had a reduction in our social time out, and I guess we are seeing family a little less frequently, but things are largely unchanged for us.

Not having friends over (or going over) so the kids can run around and the adults can drink/talk/play games etc is finally starting to get under even my anti-social skin.

I miss traveling as well, but travel is a normally sporadic thing for our clan anyhow so I don't feel its absence the way I do good friends.

I'd like to say that I miss being able to travel, but then I can't be totally certain because I've never been to place that I wanted to travel to.

For all I know, my vacation to Disneyland that was supposed to happen over spring break might have sucked anyway :)

I'm really sorry to hear that, does she have COVID-19 or something else?

Stalking is also much more difficult. The husbands are home all day plus everyone is more suspicious of guys running in between the houses.

Maybe when this is over thieves and perverts can prove that we were economically damaged and get a piece of the bailout.

Nothing. Just about everything's been better since covid-19. The only suckage has been grocery shopping, but I can deal with that.
