If my parents get the $1200 + $300/child, will I get $600? I'm 20 and had ~$5500 taxed income last year if it makes any difference.

Do they claim you as a dependent on their income tax?

As far as I know they do, they haven't said anything about it for the past few years. I'm probably excluded?

no, you can only be counted once. If they list you as a dependent, you don't get any money.

But it would be stupid of them to do that since you could get $600 while they would only get $300 if they listed you.

You forget that filing him as dependant saves them a lot more than $300.

I'll be getting the $1200 for my wife and I and I'll probably spend $300-$400 on just fun stuff like some new games or a video card and some stuff for my wife. Then probably save the rest for now.

So the government is giving us the money to stimulate the American economy, and here you go taking it to Europe :)

If I get one, it'll go towards a new canister filter. My current one just sprung a leak at the outlet tube.

Credit card payment... I'm currently paying down my own debt, so this would go a long way. I should only have the 1 cc to pay off by next month and I'll be debt-free again! w00t!

Of course its tempting to spend half of it on an Eee PC laptop..... sigh.

Considering the number has jumped around so much, I haven't made plans. Probably some sort of bill though.
