So what are you doing for/with your Dad on Father's Day?

Our family is getting together to spend the day at an annual car show and chicken BBQ at the local fireman's fielday grounds. My father, my father-in-law, my brother, and myself make four fathers celebrating. What could make a father happier than cold beverages, good chicken BBQ with fixins', and 60s-70s muscle cars (plus other cool cars from all eras!)

i'm flying 1800 miles home to spend the day with him and the rest of my family. Got him a Harley Davidson shirt from the local shop here that just opened saturday (he likes to get those shirts from as many different cities as he can, although he doesn't ride) and a card.
 
I'm driving home to play golf with him in the annual Lions' Club Father's Day best ball tournament. We've played in it for the last 4-5 years, and it's a lot of fun. I'm also upgrading his computer with 256 more MB of memory and putting win2k on it for him (moving away from the evil known as windows 98).
 
I will take him out to the golf course then all of we siblings and families will get together for a /BQ.
Mmmmmmmm,.......Ribs, Tater salad, Beans that have cooked all day. Maybe cut the his grand kids loose on some homemade ice cream. It's a right of passage, you can't really enjoy homemade ice cream without having cranked it by hand.
 
Gonna take him out for a 100$ shopping spree at Brookstones thanks to my 50$ coupon for testdriving some stupid car... Then I'll take him out to dinner at Cheesecake factory.

sorry. maybe the question should be "what are you doing on father's day?"

in that case: i'm being taken out to dinner by my 3 children, 2 of whom are bringing their families. one of my sons is a father, the other father present will be my son-in-law. so, i'm sure we'll have a very happy time, barring fisticuffs.
 
Don't know yet. My wife'll be too busy to join us, my daughter is going camping, I'll probably take him and my son out to dinner. Still haven't gotten a present, probably some do-dad from Home Depot.
 
im flying home from Los Angeles to Annapolis, Md...(not just for fathers day but to visit my parents)...and will probably just pick up a 6 pack and sit out back and talk...maybe if i get to the driving range befor that i will go golfing with him, otherwise maybe just go to the range
 
I'm a dad and I'm alive. My son says he's getting me something special, whatever that means. The family will probably take me out to dinner at my expense. I don't think I quite understand the Fathers Day concept. Everybody buys me a gift with the money I earned and then take me out to dinner on my credit card. Go figure. I suppose it's the thought that counts.

My ex gets our son for the weekend, he's got a bunch of goodies for his Dad... lol and I get the weekend off from parenting 🙂
 
I edited my post, I just happened to see this thread when I was thinking about dad😉
We will probably go see my mom and family.
 
The whole family is going out for a nice dinner which me and my sister will pay for...

Lucky it's payday this Friday 😀
