so what 3dmark do people run now?

do you guys use the free version of 06 to determine your score, or do you use the 3dmark 2006 advance one to determine your score? I know the free one only runs a few test, so the scores may be off alot compare to someone who has the full version one,

The first 6 tests are the ones that count. The others are just for getting numbers and for show.

(like in 3dmark05, only the first 3 game tests counted, everything else I could care less about).

I purchased the full version of 3Dmark 2006 myself. Between the free tests and the advanced tests, my scores can differ by as much as 500 points, so they do influence your score. But people really only care about the game test scores. No one really cares what the exact fill rate is of your Radeon or Geforce, nor do they care how efficient the card is at SM2 or 3. The Advanced version also has the ability to save your complete results to Excel. I find this very beneficial when playing with OCing. It allows side by side comparisons involving a variety of details.

At the moment, I've got 2000, 2k1, 2k3, 2k5, and 2k6 installed. Sometimes its fun for a bit of nostalgia to go back and run 3DMark 2000, watch how fast it runs and marvel at far we've come.

Why C.P.U. (or Maximum PC) magazine still test computer using 3D Mark SE? Is it better than 06?

Is that right? 🙂
I ran 3d mark 2001 SE - 26260 seems slow
3d marks 2005 6080 STILL real slow

But I don't have 3d mark 2006 yet.
