So, we've got video cards with two outputs; why not ...

... monitors/LCDs with two *simultaneous inputs. Ya know, something with double the horizontal resolution (or vertical depending on your preference).

Multiple displays are beginning to catch on for many Windows and Linux users. Are there any displays in the works that will act as two separate units? I'm sure that CRTs of this nature are out of the question (two tubes in the same casing? YUCK!). But, something like this should be more feasible with LCD/plasma.

Here's to hoping ...

No, no, no. I'm talking about a monitor that can show two simultaneous inputs .. one on the left and another on the right. Each of the inputs has its own 15", 17", 19" or 21" of space.

agree agree! Or a monitor "inside" a monitor, like a small screen showing what the other system is doing at the bottom right hand corner.

I think that's very useful. Now I am using Sony G400 and I have to switch back and forth just to see if the other side has finished some very very easy task...

Interlacing maybe?
What I'm thinking is sort of an SLI type thing, but done onthe monitor side (with two inputs) and not the video card?
