Rumor is that it is going to be launched as a seperate card, about the same time as Audigy3.

Another rumor is that Audigy3 will not be available in PCI form, and uses so much bandwidth that it requires a "PCI-E x4" slot.

Interesting, I proposed that maybe nVIDIA was planning on entering the add-on sound card market on another AT forum, but was immediately shoot down.

Fools. nVidia has repeatedly stated on record that "Soundstorm would be returning in another form," which almost certainly means a PCI(-EX?) add-in card. I've heard the rumor that the next version of Soundstorm would be a seperate card for at least a month or two. If true, this is one of the worst-kept secrets in the computer industry. They REALLY should not have been so quick to shoot you down on that, and at least have done a bit of research before dismissing you.

This has been a reality for many months now. A petition by the users of NForcersHQ forum has not made any difference to nVidia. 🙁
